Case study
-
Howden’s Employee Benefits & Wellbeing division needed a set of internal and client-facing assets that could reflect their fast-evolving, people-first ethos.
The objective was to create editorial tools that not only informed, but energised — merging clarity, inclusivity, and engagement into a single design language.
The challenge was to push past the static conventions of corporate insurance visual communication, and build something that felt truly human, dynamic, and culturally aware.
-
We approached the project as a system, not just a set of deliverables.
The starting point was Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing’s internal brand values such as agility, representation, and clarity, which we translated into a visual structure capable of flexing across formats and contexts.
The assets were designed to function both in print and in digital environments, with an interactive layer that elevated accessibility and engagement.
Our strategic intent was simple: build communication tools that reflect the diversity of the workforce, and energise their experience with the brand.
-
The visual direction leans into movement, contrast, and inclusive storytelling.
We implemented a flexible grid system that introduced rhythm into each layout enabling scale, contrast, and hierarchy without sacrificing clarity.
Core creative decisions included:
Modular layouts built for adaptation and responsiveness;
Bold typographic layering with strategic use of color;
Photography curation focused on real, active, diverse representation;
Digital interface tailored for intuitive interaction.
The final result is a communication toolkit that feels intelligent, personal, and unmistakably Howden EB&W.
-
The materials have streamlined internal and external communication, providing a more representative and engaging experience for employees and stakeholders alike.
The dynamic visual system has given the Employee Benefits & Wellbeing division a distinctive voice within the larger Howden brand, without losing alignment or cohesion.
-
Corporate communication doesn't have to be cold.
Design can express culture, drive clarity, and reflect the people it’s meant to serve.
Editorial tools, when built strategically, become assets for alignment, motivation, and representation.
